10 Year Guarantee
Platform 10, realise that furniture is a substantial investment, and believe that you shouldn’t have to sacrifice quality for style, or vice versa. We are meticulous about the aesthetic and functional criteria that each Platform 10 item needs to meet, with each design and material being subjected to rigorous testing.
We even ensure we can trace every finished product back to the raw materials used to make it. We are so convinced of the quality of our furniture that each piece is backed by a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Built from eco-friendly, renewable 100% NZ pine MDF, Platform 10 furniture is overlaid with top quality paper laminates and PVC surfaces imported from leading suppliers in Germany, Spain and Taiwan, and fitted with high quality and proven hardware components.

To authenticate your guarantee and to ensure that your furniture remains in top condition, always adhere to the guidelines below.
Taking (great) care of your Platform 10 furniture
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight isn’t good for any of us, or for furniture.
- Damp can damage furniture, your clothes, and other stored items.
- (Nothing is sadder than a slightly mouldy cuddly toy.)
- Ensure your cabinet is placed on an even surface. You don’t want it to be wiggly, and it’s not good for its joints.
- If there’s a spill, wipe it up immediately. And encourage other family members to do the same. (Paper towels are good.)
- Coasters are your furniture’s BFF. If you’re going to put a coffee cup, glass, or bottle on the surface always use a coaster to prevent marking or damage. Kmart have some great timber ones. Or try Koop.co.nz for Sheepish, natural NZ wool options.
- Don’t put anything hot on your furniture, like hair-straighteners – ouch!
- For regular cleaning just wipe with a slightly damp cloth and buff dry with a soft dry cloth. Personally, we like microfiber.
- Diffusers seem harmless (calming and very popular) but don’t allow diffusers, nail polish removers, deodorants, or other potentially damaging chemicals to come into contact with your furniture’s surface.
- This one is common sense. Don’t open multiple drawers at any one time. (Or climb on them.) Due to gravity, the furniture may tip!
- Mind your back. When shifting any furniture always think about the weight, and going up stairs etc. Two people would do the best job, especially with units over 20kg.
- NOTE: Platform 10 take no responsibility for staining of surfaces due to contact with dyes, paints etc. or other modifications to the surfaces.
- We trust that you’ll love your furniture. And take good care of it. But if someone misuses or ill-treats it, (not thinking of your cat, necessarily, but…) unfortunately Platform 10 can’t take responsibility. Though, if you’d like a new one, we can definitely help.)
Exclusions
- Platform 10 can take no responsibility for any damage caused by modifications made to the cabinet, e.g. removal, change or alteration of parts or hardware, or modifications to the surface e.g. paints, dyes, stains.
- Mechanical components including drawer slides, locks and door hinges carry a 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Normal wear and tear, breakage due to improper use or lack of care is not covered under warranty.
- Electronic component such as LED lights or charging points built into the furniture have a 1-year warranty.
- Bedframes that squeak or make noise when used are not covered by our 10-year warranty if incorrectly assembled. Noises can often be eliminated by following our ‘How to Fix a Squeaky Bed’ guide. Warranty is void if the maximum bedframe weight limits are exceeded, 200kg for Single and King Single, 400kg for Double, Queen and King.
- Drawers loaded to in excess of 20kg are not covered by warranty.
- Platform 10 furniture is guaranteed for domestic use only. We cannot cover commercial use.
- This guarantee does not cover furniture purchased second hand. Any claims must provide proof of purchase from the original retailer.
Platform10’s guarantees are against manufacturing defect and cannot cover damage caused by breaching any of the above guidelines. To validate your guarantee, register your purchase by completing the Guarantee Registration form.
All claims can be be made through the original retailer or submitted through the Warrantee Claims form for approval by the manufacturer. Proof of purchase will be required. Once the claim is approved, you will need to return your furniture to the retailer, and the item will either be repaired or replaced.
